Scale model of Birdsboro Steel 8000 Ton forging press bed. Birdsboro Steel was a steel producer and machine manufacturer based out of Birdsboro Pennsylvania USA, from 1867 through 1988. This bed is the lowest part of a massive 8000 ton forging press and makes a great load for a heavy duty flatcar. Design of this model is based on 1950's era photos and patent drawings from U.S. patent #2,745.366 dated May 1956.
