Scale model of the WWII German V2 rocket engine combustion chamber. The V-2 was developed by the Germans as the first long range liquid fueled supersonic guided ballistic missile. Thousands were fitted with explosive warheads and launched into allied territory starting in 1944 resulting in nearly ten thousand fatalities.
